Wellness tips

Healthy Weight

Keep your pet at a healthy weight to reduce the risk of disease and arthritis.

Dental Care

Practice at-home dental care and use approved dental treats — look for the VOHC (Veterinary Oral Health Council) Seal of Acceptance.

Grooming

Maintain routine grooming, especially for long-haired pets.

Mental Enrichment

Provide mental enrichment — puzzle toys, sniff walks, and positive-reinforcement training.

Let’s bloom together.

Preventative care is the foundation of a longer, healthier life. We’re honored to be your partner in keeping your pet well.

Before we arrive

Preparing for your visit.

To help us provide the best possible care during your in-home visit, please review the following before your scheduled appointment.

1

Secure Your Pet

Dogs: please have your dog on a leash or in a secure area when we arrive. Cats: confine cats to a small room (like a bathroom or laundry room) at least 10–15 minutes before the appointment. This helps reduce stress and makes exams safer and easier.

2

Separate Other Pets

If you have multiple pets, please secure pets not being seen in another room to help maintain a calm environment during the exam.

3

Prepare Medical History

If you have records from a previous vet, email them to us ahead of time or have a copy ready. This helps us better understand your pet’s history and needs.

4

Choose a Quiet, Comfortable Area

Pick a well-lit space indoors that’s quiet and easy to clean (kitchen, living room, etc.). A calm, open area makes the exam more relaxed for everyone — especially your pet.

5

Limit Food Before Visit (If Needed)

For some pets, it may be helpful to limit food 2–3 hours before the visit in case sedation or bloodwork is needed. We’ll advise you if this applies.

Step 1

What We Bring

We’ll arrive with everything needed for a full wellness or minor illness visit — including vaccines, diagnostic tools, and supplies. All we need from you is a comfortable space and a calm pet.

Step 2

When We Arrive

We’ll greet you and your pet, take a few minutes to chat, and review your concerns. We’ll perform a full physical exam and any services requested — from vaccines to diagnostics — talking you through findings and recommendations in real time, with full transparency.

Step 3

After the Exam

We’ll create a personalized care plan tailored to your pet’s needs and lifestyle. Medications, labs, or follow-up care will be discussed and arranged. You’ll receive a detailed invoice and care summary via email or text.

Please read

Emergency & after-hours care.

We are committed to personalized, in-home care for your pet’s wellness and minor medical needs. However, we are not equipped to provide emergency or critical care services. We do not offer:

  • Emergency response or urgent care for life-threatening conditions
  • Overnight monitoring or hospitalization
  • Surgery or general anesthesia
  • Walk-in or on-call services

If your pet is experiencing a medical emergency, please contact your nearest 24/7 veterinary emergency facility immediately. Should your pet require urgent care outside of our availability, we encourage you to follow up with us once they are stable so we can remain involved in their ongoing wellness and recovery.

When to seek emergency care

Please head to an emergency clinic if your pet shows signs of:

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Persistent vomiting or diarrhea
  • Collapse or inability to stand
  • Seizures
  • Hit by a car or traumatic injury
  • Bleeding that won't stop
  • Ingestion of toxins (chocolate, medications, plants, etc.)
  • Bloated or distended abdomen
  • Trouble urinating

Payment & policies.

Payment information

Payment is due at the time of service. We accept credit/debit cards, Zelle, check, cash, and CareCredit. We’ll provide a detailed invoice after the visit.

Cancellation & missed appointment policy

Life happens! If you need to cancel or reschedule, we kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice so we can offer your spot to another pet in need. If we arrive and no one is home, or the appointment is canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, the deposit will be forfeited. This helps us keep our schedule running smoothly and ensures we can provide attentive care to every pet we see.

Pet insurance

While we don’t bill insurance companies directly, many of our clients successfully use pet insurance to get reimbursed for the care we provide. Here’s how it works:

  1. 1 You pay us at the time of your appointment using any major card, HSA/FSA card, or Apple Pay.
  2. 2 We’ll send you a detailed invoice (also called a superbill) with everything your provider needs.
  3. 3 You submit the claim directly to your insurance company, and they reimburse you based on your plan. Most claims are processed quickly online or through a mobile app — and if you need help with documentation, we’re always happy to assist.

Frequently asked questions

A mobile veterinarian brings high-quality veterinary care directly to your home. At Bloom Veterinary, we provide compassionate, low-stress visits for your pet in their familiar environment — no car rides, no waiting rooms, and no added anxiety. It’s personalized care where your pet is most comfortable.
Before your appointment, we ask that your pet is easily accessible — ideally on a leash or in a secure room. Please place other pets in a separate space if possible so we can focus fully on the patient. Have any medications, records, or questions ready. We’ll send a simple prep checklist beforehand to help you feel ready.
Yes, we do our best to accommodate urgent needs — including same-day or after-hours in-home euthanasia — when our schedule allows. While we are not an emergency service, we always encourage you to reach out by text or call, and we’ll let you know if we can assist or help you find appropriate care.
Yes! We carry many common medications and can administer treatments during the visit when appropriate. For other needs, we’re happy to call in prescriptions to your local or online pharmacy, or provide access to our trusted online pharmacy for home delivery.
We understand that some pets are fearful or reactive, especially with new people or medical handling. Being in their own home often helps, and we’re experienced in low-stress techniques. For especially anxious or aggressive pets, we may recommend pre-visit calming medications to help things go more smoothly and safely. If your pet’s behavior makes safe care at home difficult, we’ll help guide you toward the best next steps.
We focus primarily on cats and dogs, but we do offer in-home euthanasia services for exotic pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs, and small mammals. If you have an exotic companion in need of compassionate end-of-life care, please reach out — we’re happy to help or guide you to trusted specialists.
In the comfort of home

Conditions we treat.

We care for a wide range of medical concerns during our mobile visits. Here are some of the most common conditions we diagnose, treat, and manage.

Skin & Coat Issues

Itchy skin, hot spots, rashes, hair loss, or allergies — we can help soothe your pet’s discomfort and get to the root of the issue.

Ear Infections

Redness, odor, head shaking, or scratching can all signal an ear infection. We’ll examine, clean, and treat right at home.

Eye Problems

Redness, discharge, squinting, cloudiness, or pawing at the eyes may signal irritation, infection, or injury. We treat many mild to moderate eye issues at home — but a suddenly swollen, bulging, or painful eye can be an emergency, so please contact an emergency clinic right away.

Limping or Pain

Whether it’s a sprain, arthritis, or age-related stiffness, we’re here to support your pet’s mobility and comfort.

Urinary Tract Issues

Frequent urination, straining, accidents, or blood in the urine may point to a UTI, bladder inflammation, or other concern. If your pet is unable to urinate, this is a medical emergency — especially in male cats — so please seek immediate care at an emergency clinic.

Digestive Upset

Vomiting, diarrhea, or a sudden loss of appetite can be scary. We’ll assess the issue and recommend the best path forward.

Chronic Conditions

We help manage long-term concerns like kidney disease, thyroid issues, diabetes, and arthritis — monitoring labs and adjusting treatment as needed.

End-of-Life Concerns

We offer supportive care for declining quality of life and provide peaceful, in-home euthanasia when the time comes.

Senior Pet Support

Aging pets deserve gentle care. We address common age-related concerns like cognitive changes, incontinence, pain, and mobility issues.

Behavioral Concerns

Mild anxiety, storm phobia, or age-related confusion? We can offer guidance and medical support for stress and behavioral changes.
